Two Medieval French Farces:
A Reading
On 9th May we’re presenting Master Pierre Pathelin and The Washtub as a reading. This will be a fun, casual event for all, held in one of York’s historic medieval pubs. It’s a great chance to get acquainted with some fantastic medieval Continental comedy.
The War in Heaven,
York Mystery Plays 2026
On 28th June and 5th July, the streets of York will come alive with medieval plays, telling the story of the Christian Bible from Creation to Doom, performed on waggons. We’re presenting The War in Heaven (often known as The Fall of the Angels). You’ll be able to see performances throughout the day, and there will be other events as part of the accompanying festival throughout the two-week period.
