Two Medieval French Farces

On 9 May we’re presenting Master Pierre Pathelin and The Washtub as a reading.  This will be a fun, casual event for all, held in one of York’s historic medieval pubs. It’s  a great chance to get acquainted with some fantastic medieval Continental comedy.

 

York Mystery Plays 2026: The War in Heaven

On 28 June and 5 July, the streets of York will come alive with medieval plays, telling the story of the Christian Bible from Creation to Doom, performed on waggons. We’re presenting “The War in Heaven” (often known as the Fall of the Angels). You’ll be able to see performances throughout the day, and there will be other events as part of the accompanying festival throughout the two-week period.
